19. April 2022Today is the birthday of our sponsored chimpanzee Jack and he turns 10 years old. Jack was born on Chimfunshi.
Jack’s mother, Julie, came to Wildlife Orphanage on December 7, 2001 – when she was about 7 years old.
Julie previously had to spend many years alone in a rich sheik’s private zoo in Qatar. However, she was well cared for there, even though she was kept in a much too small enclosure and certainly suffered from having to live without the care of other conspecifics. Therefore, it arrived at Chimfunshi in a very good condition. Jack now lives with his 4 year old brother Jewel in outdoor enclosure 4 – Julie unfortunately died shortly after Jewel was born.
