[:de]Heute hat unser Patenschimpanse Little Jacky Geburtstag und wird sechs Jahre alt. Sie wurde auf Chimfunshi geboren. Ihre Mutter wurde ebenfalls bereits auf Chimfunshi geboren, aber ihre Großmutter Little Jane kam im Juli 1987 im Alter von 2 Jahren ins Wildlife Orphanage: Sambische Wildhüter beschlagnahmten sie von Schmugglern, die versuchten, sie aus Zaire zu schmuggeln, um sie zu verkaufen.
Heute ist auch Endangered Species Day – Tag der gefährdeten Arten: Dieser Tag soll uns sensibilisieren für die Tatsache, dass viele Arten auf unserer Erde gefährdet sind und für die Notwendigkeit, diese zu bewahren und zu beschützen.[:en]Little Jacky was born on the 20th of May 2010 at the Chimfunshi Sanctuary and is celebrating her 6 birthday. The mother of the two, Little Judy was also born at the Chimfunshi Sanctuary, but her mother Little Jane, the grandmother of Little Jacky, came to Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in July 1987 at the age of 2 years old.

Zambian game rangers found Little Jane after smugglers had tried to smuggle her over the border from Zaire in order to sell her. She came to Chimfunshi in a relatively good physical condition but she was very scared of people. She integrated very well and was quickly accepted into one of the chimpanzee groups, she is since very socially popular. Little Jane was found to be very independent, when the other chimpanzees went for their daily walks in the bush she would often spend time alone sitting in a tree.

Little Jacky still needs a lot of attention and love, she is surrounded by a large family that takes care of her – especially her grandmother Little Jane.
