28. März 2019Bruce’s birthday today! He was born at Chimfunshi in 2010 and is one of our chimpanzees you can adopt and support.
The mother of Bruce, Barbie, came to the Wildlife Orphanage in March 1997 – she was only 10 months old. Together with E.T. and Roxy Barbie was kept in Zaire as a pet, before they came to Chimfunshi. The owners of the three left Zaire to go to South Africa and left the chimpanzees in the care of a friend. This friend did not want to keep the chimpanzee babies and made arrangements to bring them to Chimfunshi. Permissions were organized, but the Siddles did not have the opportunity to transport the three chimps to Zambia. Fortunately a British couple, living in Zaire, was found, who accepted to bring the three females across the border to Zambia.
Bruce lives with his mother Barbie, his sister Brent and his brother Bussy in enclosure 3 with six other chimps.
