For the children of the region
Education is a key component of Chimfunshi's work - both in schools and in environmental education. Through the Twampane School, Chimfunshi gives children in the region access to an education they would otherwise be denied. The school, which has been run in partnership with the Zambian government since 2011, now includes a nursery, pre-school, primary and secondary school, and currently provides a comprehensive education for more than 220 children. In addition to regular classes, the students benefit from daily school meals, afternoon clubs and field trips, all of which enhance their development and broaden their horizons.

Environmental education also plays an important role. Chimfunshi educates both the local community and international visitors about the importance of conservation and sustainable behaviour. A comprehensive environmental education programme targets schools and universities throughout Zambia and currently reaches over 1,800 children, teenagers and young adults each year.
Through interactive workshops, excursions into the Miombo forest and hands-on projects, participants learn how ecosystems work, the effects of environmental degradation and how they can play an active role in conservation.
Through this holistic approach to education, Chimfunshi combines school support with environmental awareness, laying the foundation for a generation that is actively engaged in protecting their environment and preserving their habitat.
