The Board of Chimfunshi e.V. consists of the Chair, the Deputy Chair and the Treasurer.

Sebastian Louis, MBA, is an independent entrepreneur and consultant in the field of corporate finance.

Since the early 90s, he had accompanied his brother Stephan on numerous trips to Chimfunshi, supported him in his work there and actively advised him.

Every insect, every worm, every plant, every animal has a right to life. We all know that countless habitats and species are endangered or are already extinct on our earth. This is causing major tears in our ecosystem because all living things are closely interlinked and interdependent: biodiversity is what keeps nature in balance. We all know it, but too few act. I want to act and this is why I’m doing my part to protect species and promote animal welfare, especially for our closest relatives, the chimpanzees, and that’s why I’m committed to CHIMFUNSHI.

Helmut Rauber is the deputy chair

Helmut Rauber is an expert consultant to the food industry with many years of experience.

My commitment to Chimfunshi is based on the fact that two important goals can be realised with this project: First, of course, we’re working to protect chimpanzees from extinction. Second, it is also a great pleasure to secure 300 people in Zambia existence and to provide adults a sustainable, decent employment. I invite all visitors to our website to support us in this!

Patrick Hemmingson is treasurer

Patrick Hemmingson is a business administrator, investment manager and expert in real estate.

Being right in the middle of the action and making a difference means, of course, more work, but I personally find it a lot more fun than the usual “9 to 5” day-to-day business. We give a safe home to chimpanzees who need one. The numerous opportunities created for our chimpanzees and those around the world by the research and studies only made possible here at Chimfunshi confirm time and again the value of our efforts. It turns out that the better we know our cousins, the more we can help them!
