WHO WE ARE
Chimfunshi e.V. is committed to the protection of endangered chimpanzees and supports the Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in Zambia. It is the largest sanctuary for chimpanzees that no longer have a natural home. Over 150 chimpanzees and numerous local wild animals are cared for and looked after here. About 70 staff members and their families live on the premises. Chimfunshi provides them with work, housing, medical care and runs a school for more than 220 local children.

CHIMP SPONSORSHIP
Become a chimp sponsor today!
Support the work of the Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in Zambia and help us to save even more chimpanzees in need. With a sponsorship starting at 10€ per month or 120€ per year you cover a part of the costs for care and medical treatment of one chimpanzee. With this you can give an abused chimpanzee a species-appropriate habitat from the comfort of your own home!
As a chimp sponsor you will receive a certificate and information about your sponsored chimpanzee at least once a year. You can also give a sponsorship as a gift and make the recipient and a chimpanzee happy. Show your solidarity with our closest relatives!
The most wonderful place on earth.

Extension of the school
To be able to teach our more than 220 school children adequately, we need another building, desks, benches and other equipment.

A new handling facility
Our largest chimpanzee group on Chimfunshi urgently needs a new handling facility.

New outdoor enclosures
In order to provide a species-appropriate life for chimpanzees with restrictions, a special disabled enclosure urgently needs to be built.

Development of school grounds
Since our school children spend many hours outdoors, the outdoor area should become a place for living and learning.

Drinking water for all
In order to give all residents on Chimfunshi access to clean water, more wells have to be built.
